Norfolk, UK is one of England’s finest counties for wildlife, walking, cycling, dog-friendly beaches, and outdoor adventure — and mYminiBreak’s four sites at Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea, Holt, and Thetford put the best of it within easy reach. Here are ten reasons to make North Norfolk your next short break.
mYminiBreak is your base for Norfolk. Four sites — Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea, Holt, and Thetford — positioned to put the best of the county within easy reach. This is what you can do from any of them.
1. Wildlife and Birdwatching
Norfolk is one of the top three birdwatching destinations in the UK. RSPB Snettisham and RSPB Titchwell Marsh sit either side of our North Norfolk sites. Wild Ken Hill rewilding project — bison, elk, cranes, Exmoor ponies — borders our Hunstanton site. In autumn, the knot murmurations at Snettisham bring up to 100,000 birds moving as a single mass over The Wash at high tide.

2. Walking
The Peddars Way — a 46-mile National Trail following a Roman road — starts near our Thetford site and finishes at the coast beside our Holme site. The Norfolk Coast Path continues east from Holme toward Wells and Blakeney. Village walks, salt marsh paths, forest trails, and cliff-top routes all sit within reach of every site.
3. Cycling
The Rebellion Way is a 232-mile circular cycling route around Norfolk — two of our sites sit directly on it. The Norfolk Coast Cycleway follows the coast road through some of the finest scenery in the county. Thetford Forest has dedicated mountain biking trails at High Lodge, ten minutes from our Thetford site.
4. Dog-Friendly Norfolk
All four mYminiBreak sites are unconditionally dog-friendly — no breed restrictions, no size limits. The North Norfolk coast has some of the finest dog beaches in England. Holme beach, Old Hunstanton, and Thetford Forest are all within reach. Every site is within ten minutes of a dog-friendly pub.
5. Pubs and Local Food
Norfolk has a pub culture built around local ingredients and kitchens that know what season it is. Cromer crab, Brancaster mussels, Norfolk asparagus, samphire from the marshes — the food is worth the journey on its own. Every mYminiBreak site is within ten minutes of a pub we recommend without hesitation.
